Iraq's foreign minister insisted Sunday
that any security deal with the United States must contain a "very
clear timeline" for the departure of U.S. troops. A suicide bomber
struck north of Baghdad, killing at least five people including an
American soldier.
Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told reporters that American and
Iraqi negotiators were "very close" to reaching a long-term security
agreement that will set the rules for U.S. troops in Iraq after the
U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.
Zebari said the Iraqis were insisting that the agreement include a
"very clear timeline" for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces, but he
refused to talk about specific dates.
"We have said that this is a condition-driven process," he added,
suggesting that the departure schedule could be modified if the
security situation changed.
But Zebari made clear that the Iraqis would not accept a deal that
lacks a timeline for the end of the U.S. military presence.
"No, no definitely there has to be a very clear timeline," Zebari
replied when asked if the Iraqis would accept an agreement that did
not mention dates.
Differences over a withdrawal timetable have become one of the most
contentious issues remaining in the talks, which began early this
year. U.S. and Iraqi negotiators missed a July 31 target date for
completing the deal, which must be approved by Iraq's parliament.
President Bush has steadfastly refused to accept any timetable for
bringing U.S. troops home. Last month, however, Bush and Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki agreed to set a "general time horizon" for
a U.S. departure. OK, so the
Iraqi's agree with Obama and NOT John McSame as Bush!
It's getting worse
and worse. Bush in his infinite
wisdom chose to ignore the many
dissenters and military experts and
pulled our troops out of Afghanistan to
finish the job he thought his father had
left undone. What he
accomplished so far is well over 4100 US
deaths, and 75,00 Iraqi deaths in this
unnecessary venture and ultimately he's
allowed the Taliban to regroup and get
even stronger in the entire region.
Of course the big prize, Osama Bin Laden
the man he vowed to get dead or alive,
well he's likely hold up in Pakistan and
Pakistan won't allow us to search for
him. It's nothing short of a GWB
Cluster_uck!
Regarding
the Bush War, I just read an article
from Crooks and Liars, "This Week with
George Stephanopoulous" this is where he
tries to note the passing of celebrities
and he of course mentions those US
military deaths from Bush's War. I
appreciate the fact he devotes some time
to there real heroes, but it seems he
may be the only one in main stream media
that actually gets it. Why is so
much time given to the likes of Tony
Snow and some ball player that never
lived up to the hype?
Of course none of
this would be necessary had we had a
President with wisdom in the first
place. All we had to do was finish
the job in Afghanistan and many of the
lives lost could have been prevented.
Unfortunately the Republicans would love
to give us a 3rd Bush term with John
McCain, but this time.. well it's
different.. most thinking people can see
the folly in Bush's war now. His
lies, distortions, deceptions, bungling
and mistreatment of our fighting men and
women are going to send a severe
backlash to his party in this upcoming
election. It
will be even bigger than that of the
2006 elections... just you watch and
hide.
Senators Joe Lieberman and Jack Reed
appeared on last Sunday’s This Week
and
as always,
Holy Joe goes to battle for his BFF,
GOP presidential candidate John McCain.
McCain has been struggling to stay on
message and to fool
connect with the average voter, so Joe
gladly gives him a hand by distorting
facts and outright lying about the state
of the Iraqi government and U.S. troop

LIEBERMAN:
With all
respect
to Jack
— and
he’s my
dear

the
Iraqi
political

has

I mean,
that’s
one of
the
great
things
that’s
happened
as a
result
of the
surge.
There’s
greater
security.
Maliki

The

the

The

Iraq is

STEPHANOPOULOS:
But then
the U.S.
can
withdraw,
right?
LIEBERMAN:
The U.S.
is
withdrawing.
In fact,
the
surge
troops
are
coming
out.
We
expect
to hear
from
General
Petraeus
this
summer,
as he
told us
earlier
in the
year
before
the
Armed
Services
Committee,
about
whether
we can

the
fall.
I wonder if
Joe read
the GAO

last month
(PDF) that
states that
the surge

as well as
he says it
is? A
little
truthiness

and Joe has

that area.
SOME of the
surge troops
will be

this summer,
but
President
Bush put a

further
troop
withdrawals.
This freeze
is supposed
to be
temporary,
but it’s not
likely to be
lifted
before the
November
election.
As for Iraqi
reconciliation:
Has
the
Iraqi
government
followed
through
on its
promises?
Well,
the GAO
reports
that
while
some
legislation
has been
passed
to
restore
Ba’ath
Party
members
to
government
(although
many
have
questioned
the
legitimacy
of these
efforts),
give
amnesty
to some
detainees
and
define
provincial
powers,
on many
of the
larger,
stickier
issues,
no
progress
has been
made.
The
report
notes
that the
Iraqi
government
has not
enacted
“important
legislation
for
sharing
oil
resources
or
holding
provincial
elections”
and that
“[e]fforts
to
complete
constitutional
review
have
also
stalled.”
At about 6 minutes into
the clip, Logan recalls being asked if she felt
responsibility for how Americans perceived the
war.
Tell me the last
time you saw the body of a dead American
soldier. What does that look like? Who in
American knows what that looks like? Because
I know what that looks like, and I feel
responsible for the fact that no one else
does. ... And the soldiers do feel
forgotten, they do. No doubt. From
Afghanistan to Iraq, they absolutely feel --
you know, we may be tired of hearing about
this five years later, they still have to go
out and do the same job.
After over a year of
campaigning, you’d think John McCain would have
a sense about how to talk about the war in Iraq.
His support for the president’s policy, and his
deeply held desire to stay the course, is, after
all, his signature campaign issue.
To be sure, McCain has
made comments like these before, most notably in
response to questions about his stated
willingness to keep U.S. troops in Iraq for 100
years. He frequently emphasizes his belief that
as long as Americans are not being killed or
seriously injured in Iraq, he doesn’t much care
when we leave.
But he’s usually not
this clumsy and politically tone deaf.
Bringing the troops home is “not too important”?
For thousands of Americans in uniform and their
families, nothing is more important.
George W
BUSH looks
at it this
way; after
4000 US
deaths,
nearly
70,000 US
wounded, and
100's of
thousands
Iraqi
deaths... he
still has NO
regrets.
Just today,
our sorry
U.S.
President
George W.
Bush claimed
that he had
no regrets
about the
decision to
invade Iraq
and topple
Saddam
Hussein in
2003.
What a sorry
excuse for a
human being.
click the above pic to listen to McSame,
the Old Fart finally admit what we all
know! At a town hall meeting today, Senator
McCain made a stunning admission when he
announced that his energy policy would
aim to reduce our dependence on Middle
East oil, which would in turn ensure
that we never have to fight another war
there again.
“My friends, I will
have an energy policy which will
eliminate our dependence on oil from
Middle East that will then prevent
us from having ever to send our
young men and women into conflict
again in the Middle East.”
Think about how amazing this is.
McCain is essentially saying that our
quest to “spread democracy” throughout
the Middle East is a sham. It has
nothing to do with freeing oppressed
people, or protecting Israel, or
defending ourselves against future
attacks. It’s about gaining control of
foreign oil. Stunning. Will this get any
significant media play?
Tweety gets this exactly right:
“You know, if somebody else
were to say that, they would be
accused of being a communist, or
radical, or a leftist…for John
McCain, a war hero, to say that
we’re fighting in the Middle East to
protect our oil sources is an
astounding development.”

2007 becomes deadliest yet for
U.S. in Iraq
Military announces
deaths of soldiers and sailor, raising year’s total to
853
Five more U.S. troops and a sailor were killed in
Iraq, the military said Tuesday — making 2007 the deadliest year for American
forces in Iraq, according to an Associated Press count.
At least 853 U.S. military personnel have died in Iraq so far this year — the
highest annual toll since the war began in March 2003, according to AP figures.
Some 850 troops died in 2004.
The grim milestone passed despite a sharp drop in U.S. and Iraqi deaths here in
recent months, after a 30,000-strong U.S. force buildup.
(CBS) 60 Minutes
has identified the man whose fabricated story
of Iraqi biological weapons drove the U.S. argument for invading
Iraq. It has also obtained video of "Curve Ball," as he was known in
intelligence circles, and discovered he was not only a liar, but
also a thief and a poor student instead of the chemical engineering
whiz he claimed to be.
60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon's two-year investigation will be
broadcast this Sunday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Curve Ball is an Iraqi defector named Rafid Ahmed Alwan, who arrived
at a German refugee center in 1999. To bolster his asylum case and
increase his importance, he told officials he was a star chemical
engineer who had been in charge of a facility at Djerf al Nadaf that
was making mobile biological weapons.
60 Minutes has learned that Alwan’s university records indicate he
did study chemical engineering but earned nearly all low marks,
mostly 50s. Simon’s investigation also uncovered an arrest warrant
for theft from the Babel television production company in Baghdad
where he once worked.
Also appearing in Sunday's segment is video that 60 Minutes obtained
of Alwan at a Baghdad wedding in 1993 - the first time images of him
have ever been made public.
He eventually wound up in the care of German intelligence officials
to whom he continued to spin his tale of biological weapons. His
plan succeeded partially because he had worked briefly at the plant
outside Baghdad and his descriptions of it were mostly accurate. He
embellished his account by saying 12 workers had been killed by
biological agents in an accident at the plant.
Revealed: Rumsfeld
Urged Staff To "Keep Elevating The Threat"
In a series of internal
musings and memos to his staff, then-Defense
Secretary
Donald H. Rumsfeld
argued that Muslims avoid "physical labor" and
wrote of the need to "keep elevating the
threat," "link
Iraq to
Iran" and develop
"bumper sticker statements" to rally public
support for an increasingly unpopular war.
The memos, often
referred to as "snowflakes," shed light on
Rumsfeld's brusque management style and on his
efforts to address key challenges during his
tenure as Pentagon chief. Spanning from 2002 to
shortly after his resignation following the 2006
congressional elections, a sampling of his
trademark missives obtained yesterday reveals a
defense secretary disdainful of media criticism
and driven to reshape public opinion of the Iraq
war. Read on....http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/31/AR2007103103095.html?hpid=topnews

A visibly angry

the politics of distraction that the
Republican party has employed to keep
from having to confront their blind
support for failed policies.
Of course,
CNN’s John King is obliged to bring up
the Clenis for “balance.”
CLINTON:
…This was classic bait and switch.
COOPER:
Focus on that as opposed to focus on
what’s really happening ….
CLINTON: Oh
yeah. That’s right. “I don’t have to
deal with Iraq. I don’t have to tell
anybody what I’m going to do.
Everything we do in Iraq is
obviously right because they said
this about Petraeus,” as if it was
the only issue in the whole wide
world. Come on, these Republicans
were all upset about Petraeus-this
was one newspaper ad-these are the
people that ran a television ad in
Georgia with Max Cleland, who lost
half his body in Vietnam, in the
same ad with Osama bin Laden and
Saddam Hussein. That’s what
Republicans do. And the person that
rode into the Senate on that ad was
there voting to condemn the
Democrats over the Petraeus ad. I
mean, these are the people that
funded the Swift Boat Veterans for
Truth. The President appointed one
of the principal funders of the
Swift Boat ads to be an ambassador,
but they’re really about the
Petraeus one. It’s okay to question
John Kerry’s patriotism on the
blatantly dishonest claims by people
that didn’t know what they are
talking about. So it was just bait
and switch. It was “Oh, thank
goodness, I can take this little
word here and ignore what we’ve done
in Iraq and what we’re gonna do and
the outrageous way that we’re gained
political power by smearing John
Kerry.”
At last, maybe someone in Congress is growing
something similar to that of a backbone: WE
MUST SPEAK FOR THE TROOPS WHO CANNOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES -
OUT OF IRAQ ACTION PAGE:
Finally, there is a
growing movement to finally have Congress put its
foot down and say no more. As of today, 81
members of the House of Representatives have signed
on to a letter drafted by Out of Iraq Caucus Chairs
Reps. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA),
and Maxine Waters (D-CA), to the White House,
declaring that they will appropriate no more funds
for this war except to redeploy and protect our
troops.
This is the best opportunity we've had so far to
rally around an initiative, to thank those who have
already joined in, and to
encourage all others to sign on as well.
There can be absolutely no doubt that when we speak
out in sufficient numbers, Congress ACTS. This
was proven yet again a small while back when a
million people (many perhaps not even citizens)
demonstrated against an immigration bill, and within
24 hours it was dead on arrival in the Senate. Who
could witness that and seriously maintain that
Congress won't listen to us? Any such thought is a
insidious lie, promoted only by sad defeatists and
those who would con us out of our own participatory
democracy. Join the effort by visiting

Iraqi
investigators have a videotape that shows Blackwater
USA guards opened fire against civilians without
provocation in an incident last week in which 11
people died, a senior Iraqi official said Saturday.
He said the case had been referred to the Iraqi
judiciary.
Iraq's
president, meanwhile, demanded that the Americans
release an Iranian arrested this week on suspicion
of smuggling weapons to Shiite militias. The demand
adds new strains to U.S.-Iraqi relations only days
before a meeting between President Bush and Iraq's
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Interior
Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf said
Iraqi authorities had completed an investigation
into the Sept. 20 shooting in Nisoor Square in
western Baghdad and concluded that Blackwater guards
were responsible for the deaths.
He told
The Associated Press that the conclusion was based
on witness statements as well as videotape shot by
cameras at the nearby headquarters of the national
police command. He said eight people were killed at
the scene and three of the 15 wounded died in
hospitals.
Blackwater,
which provides most of the security for U.S.
diplomats and civilian officials in Iraq, has
insisted that its guards came under fire from armed
insurgents and shot back only to defend themselves.
What a gross indictment.
Imagine this... there are more mercenaries than US
military in Iraq. Bush in his infinite wisdom
outsourced this friggin war and look at the mess
he's gotten us into? The bastard ought to be
impeached, and brought up on War Crimes. FYI,
the U.S. Attorney's Office in Raleigh, N.C., is
handling the investigation with help from Pentagon
and State Department auditors, who have concluded
there is enough evidence to file charges, the
officials told The Associated Press. Blackwater is
based in Moyock, N.C... maybe Lizzie Dole
should be phone called and asked to get her fat ass
involved in this matter?
Also Saturday
(09.22.07), the U.S. military announced the death of
two more U.S. soldiers — one of an unspecified
non-combat related injury and another in a vehicle
accident in Diyala province. The deaths raised to at
least 3,795 members of the U.S. military who have
died since the Iraq war started in March 2003,
according to an Associated Press count.

A call by Puerto Rico's governor for a
U.S. withdrawal from Iraq earned a standing ovation from a
conference of more than 4,000 National Guardsmen.
Gov. Anibal Acevedo Vila said Saturday that the U.S. administration
has "no new strategy and no signs of success" and that prolonging
the war would needlessly put guardsmen in harm's way.
"The war in Iraq has fractured the political will of the United
States and the world," he said at the opening of the 129th National
Guard Association general conference. "Clearly, a new war strategy
is required and urgently."
Acevedo said sending more troops to Iraq would be a costly blunder.
* Sadly, no one in the administration
gives a damn what a Puerto Rican says , or thinks... they are not a
RED state. Had someone in Georgia, Kentucky or Alabama said
that... they might have heard it, and had it register... but Puerto

The Pentagon will

REPUBLICANS LOVE WAR, OR BUSH MORE THAN OUR TROOPS.... AFTER AN ALL-NIGHT
DEBATE, SENATE REPUBLICANS HAVE BLOCKED A DEMOCRATIC EFFORT TO REMOVE AMERICAN
COMBAT TROOPS FROM IRAQ BY THE END OF APRIL 2008 BY A VOTE OF 52 TO 47!
The 52-47 vote fell short of the 60
votes needed to cut off debate under Senate rules. It was a sound defeat for
Democrats who say the U.S. military campaign, in its fifth year and
requiring 158,000 troops, cannot tame the sectarian violence in Iraq.
As members cast their votes, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice hurried

Please support the effort tonight - email, or
call your Senator/s. Let them know you are tired of enabling "Lil Bush" to
play war. He is an imbecile and of course not a good Wartime President.
Hell for that matter, I can't think of anything he's good for, or good at...
except lying.

The
imbecile calling himself "the decider", the so
called "war time president" lied us into this war,
and he keeps on lying to keep us there. It is way
past time to get out. Time is up.
Domenici: The vote on the Levin-Reed amendment is
more important than anything to come to the floor
(certainly more important than the URGENT Terri
Schiavo fiasco Pete). Vote with the majority of your
fellow New Mexicans and stop hiding behind the Bush
lies and distortions.
Bingaman: Senator Bingaman, grow a spine... stop
allowing the slaughter of innocent Americans and
Iraqis.
Gentlemen, tonight is the night! Remember, we are
watching you.
It's on CSPAN2 ... You can
stream what’s happening from
CSpan here.
Harry Reid:
"I would like to inform the Republican leadership and all my
colleagues that we have no intention of backing down. If Republicans
do not allow a vote on Levin-Reed today or tomorrow, we will work
straight through the night on Tuesday. The American people deserve
an open and honest debate on this war, and they deserve an
up-or-down vote on this amendment to end it.
"Given the Republican leadership's decision to block the amendment,
we have no choice but to do everything we can in the coming days to
highlight Republican obstruction. We do this in hopes of ultimately
getting a simple up-or-down vote on this and other important
amendments that could change the direction of the war."
Dick Durbin: "The
Republican leadership has established hurdles and blockades,
everything they can find to stop us from a vote that reflects the
feelings of the American people. You know why? They're afraid of
what the American people want. They're afraid the American people
might prevail."

Iraqi Leader: We Can Keep Peace Without
U.S. Soldiers - Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki shrugged off U.S.
doubts of his government's military and political progress on
Saturday, saying Iraqi forces are capable and American troops can
leave "any time they want."
One of his top aides, meanwhile, accused the United States of
embarrassing the Iraqi government by violating human rights and
treating his country like an "experiment in a U.S. lab."
Al-Maliki sought to display confidence at a time when pressure is
mounting in Congress for a speedy withdrawal of U.S. forces. On
Thursday, the House passed a measure calling for the U.S. to
withdraw its troops by spring, hours after the White House reported
mixed progress by the Iraqi government toward meeting 18 benchmarks.
And in a related story: Iraqi Politicians Take August Off As US
Soldiers Fight On - The White House on Friday appeared resigned to
the fact that the Iraqi parliament is going to take August off, even
though it has just eight weeks to show progress on military,
political and economic benchmarks prescribed by the United States.
"My understanding is at this juncture they're going to take August
off, but, you know, they may change their minds," White House press
secretary Tony Snow said.
"You know, it's 130 degrees in Baghdad in August," he said,
sympathetically. Snow was reminded that U.S. troops will be
continuing to fight throughout August in the heat.
"You know, that's a good point," Snow said. "And
it's 130 degrees for the Iraqi
military."
* What will Bush say about this LA Times report?
“Sunni
extremists from Saudi Arabia make up half the
foreign fighters in Iraq, many suicide bombers, a U.S. official says.”
My
God, the arrogance of this Bush
administration never ceases to amaze
me. The families of
those fighting are going to one day,
sit up and say No More! Just
you watch and hide.
OK, Dubya Dumb Ass, didn't you say if the
Iraqis asked us to leave, or when they were able to stand up, we'd
stand down? Well if they can defend themselves without our presence,
isn't it time? Also, if they (the Iraqi government/politicians) can
take a month off, why don't we? It seems to me, that you are
the only one pushing for us to stay there stuck in the middle of
their civil war. You should be impeached you lying SOB!
An independent
oversight board created to identify
intelligence abuses after the
CIA scandals of
the 1970s did not send any reports to the
attorney general of legal violations during
the first 5 1/2 years of the Bush
administration's counterterrorism effort,
the
Justice Department
has told Congress.
Although the
FBI told the board
of a few hundred legal or rules violations
by its agents after the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks, the board did not identify which of
them were indeed legal violations. This
spring, it forwarded reports of violations
in 2006, officials said.
The President's
Intelligence Oversight Board -- the
principal civilian watchdog of the
intelligence community -- is obligated under
a 26-year-old executive order to tell the
attorney general and the president about any
intelligence activities it believes "may be
unlawful." The board was vacant for the
first two years of the Bush administration.
The FBI sent copies
of its violation reports directly to
Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales.
But the board's mandate is to provide
independent oversight, so the absence of
such communications has prompted critics to
question whether the board was doing its
job.

Obviously,
"Lil Bush" didn't want anyone to know what was
going on. We are spending 10 Billion a

other theatres of the War On Terror.
Imagine this... so far we've already spent 758
Billion and counting. What a skunk!

John Edwards:
"The president's remarks today defending his Iraq policy without regard to
actual facts border on the delusional. The president claimed that the same
people attacking U.S. troops today are the ones who perpetrated 9/11. It must be
nice to live in a world where your actions have no consequences."
"There was no group
called Al Qaeda in Iraq before the president's
disastrous mismanagement of the war gave them a
foothold, a fact the president flagrantly
ignores. After being discredited again and
again, the president is still trying to link
Iraq and 9/11 - a rationale for the war that
virtually everyone except Dick Cheney has now
recognized was false".
"The president
needs to stop pretending and start taking
responsibility for the results of his failed
strategy: There are more terrorists. Al Qaeda is
resurgent and restored to full strength. And
that's according to the Bush Administration".
"We
need a real strategy against terrorism, like the
one I have offered. We need to take Al Qaeda in
Iraq as seriously as we take terrorism anywhere.
As president, I will apply the full extent of
our security apparatus to protect our vital
interests, to take measures to root out
terrorist cells, and to strike swiftly and
strongly against those who would do us harm. I
will also launch a sweeping effort to eliminate
the conditions that generate instability,
radicalism, and violence toward the U.S. and our
allies."

more than a lying sack of excrement.
Official: Report will say
none of Iraq’s goals met
A progress report on Iraq will
conclude that the U.S.-backed government in Baghdad has not met
any of its targets for political, economic and other reform,
speeding up the Bush administration's reckoning on what to do
next, a U.S. official said Monday.
One likely result of the report will be a vastly accelerated
debate among President Bush's top aides on withdrawing troops
and scaling back the U.S. presence in Iraq.
The "pivot point" for addressing the matter will no longer be
Sept. 15, as initially envisioned, when a full report on Bush's
so-called "surge" plan is due, but instead will come this week
when the interim mid-July assessment is released, the official
said.
The facts
are not in question," the
official told The Associated
Press, speaking on condition of
anonymity because the draft is
still under discussion. "The
real question is how the White
House proceeds with a post-surge
strategy in light of the
report."
The
report, required by law, is
expected to be delivered to
Capitol Hill by Thursday or
Friday, as the Senate takes up a
$649 billion defense policy bill
and votes on a Democratic
amendment ordering troop
withdrawals to begin in 120
days. Just in case you're

In a disastrous seven days time, President
Bush sees his poll numbers plummet, Republicans abandon his Iraq
policy and he faces a nascent censure and impeachment movement.
A new survey by the American Research Group found that only 31
percent of respondents approve of the president’s commutation of
former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby’s prison sentence.
The study by the private New Hampshire-based polling company
canvassed 1,100 Republicans, Democrats and Independents from July
3-5, finding 64 percent disapproved of the commutation and 5 percent
were undecided.
The president commuted the sentence Monday, saying the 2 years
imposed last month on Libby, who was found guilty of perjury and
obstructing justice in a case linked to the Iraq war, was
“excessive.”
The commutation has sparked a firestorm on Capitol Hill.
Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.), who has drafted a resolution to censure
Bush, said the president’s “intervention is an unconscionable abuse
of authority by George W. Bush, and Congress must step forward and
express the disgust that Americans rightfully feel toward this
contemptible decision.”
Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Judiciary
Committee, has scheduled hearings Wednesday on the commutation. The
hearings will include pardons made by Clinton, former President Bush
and possibly other past presidents.
Those hearings may be the least of the White House’s problems.
The ARG poll found a remarkable 45 percent in favor of the U.S.
House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against
Bush.
In Los Angeles, a storefront “impeachment headquarters” emblazoned
with American flags opened July 4. Activists who gathered to open
the center accuse the Bush administration of condoning torture,
spying on Americans and misleading citizens about the war in Iraq.
They also were angry at the president’s decision to commute Libby’s
sentence.
“Isn’t it ironic that Paris Hilton will spend more days in jail than
Libby?” said Byron De Lear, a Green Party activist.
Majority Leader Harry Reid:
"Republicans will have the opportunity to
not just say the right things on Iraq, but vote the right way, too,
so that we can bring the responsible end to this war that the
American people demand and deserve."
Worst 3
months for U.S. in Iraq since war began 5 GIs killed in latest attack, bringing U.S.
toll to 329 for the past 3 months
Insurgents launched
a deadly coordinated attack on an American
combat patrol, the U.S. military said
Friday, killing five troops and making this
the deadliest quarter for U.S. soldiers in
Iraq since the war began.
Assailants detonated a roadside bomb, then
fired guns and rocket-propelled grenades at
the soldiers. Seven troops were wounded in
the attack on Thursday in southern Baghdad
and were evacuated to a military hospital;
one has since returned to duty, the military
said.
The deaths brought to 99 the number of U.S.
troops to die in Iraq this month, according
to an Associated Press count. The toll for
the past three months — 329 — made it the
deadliest such period for GIs since the war
began in March 2003.

High school seniors present president with
letter during annual program
President Bush was presented with a letter Monday signed by 50 high
school seniors in the Presidential Scholars program urging a halt to
"violations of the human rights" of terror suspects held by the
United States.
The White House said Bush had not expected the letter but took a
moment to read it and talk with a young woman who handed it to him.
"The president enjoyed a visit with the students, accepted the
letter and upon reading it let the student know that the United
States does not torture and that we value human rights," deputy
press secretary Dana Perino said.
Well now we already know for sure that BUSH isn't

"boot scootin." Read what our friend Richard at The All Spin

He’s in Congress and doesn’t know what
the casualty and wounded figures are for
our troops fighting in Iraq. This is a
shameful performance for any member of
Congress and especially a war hawk.
Gingrey makes a remark about the
defeatist—Democratic talking heads
that go on teevee, but he’s either lying
or can’t be bothered to take one minute
of his time to accurately report the
devastation that has been inflicted on
our troops. Or…here’s a novel approach.
How about mentioning the innocent Iraqis
that have been killed in the war as
well…
He says that
only 3100 have died and 12-14 thousand
have been injured severely. On IAVA’s
website, they
report that:Official DoD Count of Troops Killed
in Iraq: 3510
Troops Killed in Afghanistan: 396
Wounded in Action: 27269
Duh..
Congressman “Lame – O” Gingrey,
I watched your television performance
over the weekend and was totally
dismayed. If you are going to be a
cheerleader for Bush's incompetent,
illegal and failed war, then at least
keep score accurately.
Seriously Congressman, it's had to take
you seriously when you don't even know
the number of casualties in the Iraq
war... you know?
You sir, looked very, very foolish being
interviewed on Hardball. Ah, but then
again, those of you on the right that
enabled the “Decider” for all these years to
run up the debt, to spend like a drunken
sailor and to wage his unholy war have
looked foolish all along, so I guess you
are use to it by now… huh?
Oh
yeah, the Congressman has never

just another loudmouth, dimwitted,
Republican Chicken Hawk! I'm
sure Georgian's are proud as hell of

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) - calls Harry Reid and many others WIMPS!
Yo, Senator Jim DeMint,
I read your WIMPS remark and I have a question or two for you. What were you
doing during the 1st Gulf War?
We all know what you were doing for the 2nd invasion of Iraq and that was
running your mouth. Once again, what was Jim DeMint doing during the first war,
Desert Storm? And exactly what military experience have you had DeMint?
You know Harry Reid is quite a boxer, why not get in the ring with him and call
him a wimp, or are you a pussy!
Al Gore sums up what
is wrong with Bush's foreign policy - Al Gore
writes in an op-ed for the Guardian : A Drive For Global Domination Has
Put Us In Greater Danger
The pursuit of "dominance" in foreign policy led the Bush administration to
ignore the UN, to do serious damage to our most important alliances, to violate
international law, and to cultivate the hatred and contempt of many in the rest
of the world. The seductive appeal of exercising unconstrained unilateral power
led this president to interpret his powers under the constitution in a way that
brought to life the worst nightmare of the founders. Any policy based on
domination of the rest of the world not only creates enemies for the US and
recruits for al-Qaida, but also undermines the international cooperation that is
essential to defeating terrorists who wish to harm and intimidate America.
Ditto Al, you hit the nail on the head... and considering
Bush's pin head, that's quite good!
Today, Sunday the 27th, I was watching CNN
and they had a Republican strategists on (Georgette Mosbacher) that
claimed the American people do not want us out of Iraq right away...
huh? SHE described it as a strategy of surrender. So now
instead of cut n run, its a strategy for surrender?
I guess the red headed witch Mosbacher wants
us to slaughter more Americans while the Iraqi Civil War continues?
I do not think that is what they American people want. This
woman is as delusional as both Cheney and Bush.
Here's an email note I just received from John Edwards
that gives me hope that REAL change might still prevail:
About an hour ago, the Senate caved to President Bush
and sent him another blank check to continue the war in Iraq.
This is a serious blow for all of us, but no one lost more today than the troops
in the field who continue to sacrifice so nobly and their families still waiting
back home.
It's a hard moment, but you and I don't have the luxury of getting discouraged.
We must remember: This is not over. For those of us committed to change, it has
only begun.
This weekend, thousands of us will take action in our communities to support the
troops and end the war. We will speak out in public. We will send care packages
to soldiers in Iraq. We will gather letters for Congress and the president. And
on Memorial Day, we will remember and honor those who sacrificed everything for
their nation.
